Character Avatar: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Character Name: Allete (Dupont) de la Courcel
Age: 37
Height: 5'9"
Rank/Title: Princess Consort/Baronne de LaCroix
Race: D'Angeline
Country/Province: Terre d'Ange/Namarre
Player: Merle

Appearance: While other women of her height might be described as willowy, lean, sylphlike and such things, Allete cuts a sultry figure, and is more likely to be given epithets of vivacious, provocative. She isn't particularly bosomy, but certainly isn't lacking in that area, and while her torso is long and slender, she is fit rather than thin. Her hips are full and voluptuous, her legs long and shapely.

Allete's honey toned skin pales considerably in the cooler months, but even in the depths of winter she retains just a touch of that sun-kissed warmth, only rarely attaining the milky porcelain shade that some D'Angelines pride themselves for. Her hair, conversely, brightens with the sun, going from gentle waves of medium blonde with hints of golden highlights, to spun gold and wheat. No matter the season, her elegantly arched brows and long, thick lashes tend to be a shade or two darker.

Though she is wholly D'Angeline, there is an almost exotic quality to Allete's looks. Angular bone structure, with high, wide cheekbones, a strong jaw. Almond shaped, smokey grey eyes that sometimes hold a hint of blue like the cold edge of steel, and at others the green of tropical ocean waves. Her nose is a little wide, and if you look very closely, a little crooked, having been broken once when she fell from a horse in her youth.

Last, but not least, her lips are those that beg to be kissed. Plush, soft and naturally pouty. And out of them a sweet voice, a little bit breathy and no small amount alluring. In all, she epitomises the beauty, grace and raw sensuality that it is said the Namarrese are known for.

Personality: Allete is usually a rather friendly, laid-back person, with a kind word or a sympathetic ear for those who wish to speak with her. That said, she can be soft-spoken, and even quite reserved, nearly to the point of aloofness, when she is uncomfortable or upset. This being because the woman can't stand any sort of confrontation, and avoids it if at all possible. The exception to this is, of course, when it comes to her children. Her pacifism does not necessarily denote weakness, and if someone gives them any umbrage, they will swiftly find that out.

Active and outgoing, Allete loves to be outdoors, hiking, swimming, riding, fishing and suchlike. She's even occasionally been on hunts, though her empathy and caring nature makes her feel sorry for the poor creatures, no matter that she knows it is a necessary thing. She especially enjoys time spent on the water, either that of the many rivers of land-locked Namarre, or on her visits to the coast. For all that she enjoys those more athletic pursuits, she finds pleasure in less physical pastimes, as well. Books and tea, singing, time spent with her children. Indoor or out, it is the simple things that Allete finds most meaningful.

History: Baron Ronald Dupont of Point de LaCroix, Cross Point, a place so called because the crossing of multiple rivers has etched a star-like shape on the terrain, and his wife Lynette wanted a big family, lots of children, but due to an unfortunate illness the lady suffered, they were only given one daughter. They were never bitter, though, and loved and treasured Allete as a blessing from Elua. The girl never wanted for anything. Affection and attention, toys and pets. Later, books, lessons, horses, a former Eglantine voice instructor. Whatever she needed or desired.

Even given all of her advantages, Allete was always very down to earth. Being raised in a rural community with no siblings, she spent a lot of time with servants, workers, vassals and their children. Knowing how Elua and his companions treated with rulers and peasants alike, she saw no reason to act differently towards them and counted many as friends as she grew up. In fact, she still retains that habit of treating people with the same warmth and respect no matter their station.

When Allete came of age, her father began to take her with him to the City of Elua, broadening her horizons and teaching her how to handle business and politics. Preparing her to someday inherit his title. She enjoyed her studies, both the academic ones that continued, and these new social lessons. Especially taking pleasure in the traveling, in discovering and exploring new places and all of the people she was meeting.

One such was the handsome Prince Delaunay de la Courcel. Upon meeting Del at the palace, she was almost immediately taken with him. Allete wasn't unknown to have the odd dalliance, but had never felt so strongly for anyone. They courted, and in due course, were wed. For a time everything seemed perfect. Almost a year to the day from their marriage, their first child was born. A boy they called Aniel. Three years later, he was joined by his sister, Aveline. Allete had never been happier about anything in her life than she was about becoming a mother, and Ronald and Lynette were equally ecstatic to be grandparents.

Things didn't stay so idyllic forever, unfortunately. Delaunay was not always kind to Allete, which caused her to withdraw somewhat. There was also the adept he kept as a lover on the side. Allete was a devout enough believer in Elua's precept that she didn't particularly mind the idea of her husband bedding others, and even did so herself on the rare occasion, but the affection he seemed to hold for the other woman wrenched at her heart. So she distanced herself from the man she once considered the love of her life, and focused instead on their children.

When Del disappeared, Allete didn't know whether to be sad or relieved. A fact she was ashamed to admit, but things had only gotten worse between them. In all honesty, she felt both of those things, and a host of other complex emotions besides. Eventually, she came to terms with it, and settled into raising the children on her own, which she did with as much joy and grace as she could muster, though the friendly openness of her youth was tempered by the trials and experiences life has thrown her way.

Updates: The children are getting bigger. Aniel a rambunctious eight year old full of questions and a desire to explore, Aveline a bright eyed girl of five. Allete has also come into her inheritance, taking on the responsibilities of her parents' barony. With Del's reappearance, she was thrown for a loop, but has been attempting to be a diligent wife if for no other reason than the vows they made and for the sake of their children, though whether they will ever recover any affection between them remains to be seen.

Aug 19, 2016 - After a fairly typical, though uncomfortable given the high summer heat during the latter months, pregnancy, Allete has given birth to her third child. Breaking from the trend of giving her little ones 'A' names, she called the newborn girl Delia, a nod to her husband and father of the babe, Delaunay.
