Townhome Request: Piper’s Glow in a small candle shop in the Artisan's District. The uppermost floor of the building is Piper’s personal residence, and the lowermost floor is the actual business. Piper specializes in scented candles, but also has candles used for ceremony and light sources as well.

Appearance: Piper is a strange and soft blending of her d’Angeline father, and her Eiran mother. Her hair is flame red, and is long, falling just past her shoulders. It is a clear inherited feature of her mother. The rest of her looks, however, are from her father. Bright blue eyes and pale skin hint at the fact that she is a bastard of the Shahrizai.
Personality: Depending on how you know her, depends on the personality you get from Piper. If you know her from her shop in the city, then you would believe she is a soft spoken, well mannered half breed, showing no real relationship with her Eiran lineage. She is full of grace and sophistication, and is by far one of the most pleasant business owners to interact with.
If you know her outside of her work, you’ll find she is full of fire, piss and vinegar. She’s loud and opinionated, as well as intelligent. It is the complete opposite of her business facade. She’ll drink with the best of them, while slinging playful insults.
There is one other personality that she shows hardly anyone, and has kept a secret for all of her life. Though her father’s lineage would suggest otherwise, Piper is very submissive in the bedroom. It scares her, as it’s not what is expected of a Shahrizai, even a bastard one, and as a result, she has had very few partners in her life. It was a fear that this part of her personality would somehow be revealed to her family, and used against her in some way.

Strengths and Weaknesses: Piper’s greatest strength is her intelligence. Always one for learning and reading, Piper knows a bit of everything, though isn’t an expert in much by any means. Her mind is her greatest tool.
Her greatest weakness is her secret. It will eventually get around that she prefers to be dominated, and she has no doubts it will be used against her in some way. It scares her so much that she holds it too closely, almost never allowing anyone close enough to figure out what it is that really gets her going. It also means she has very little experience in the BDSM realm, and somethings startle her before they arouse her.

History:
Piper was the product of a very explosive night of passion between a traveling Eiran woman, and a minor lord of the Shahrizai. It was never meant to be for the two, and both had parted that night assuming that they would never cross paths again. That was, until, ten months later, Piper’s mother left her on her father’s doorstep with a note, explaining that she did not want the bastard swaddled in a blanket, just barely keeping the crisp spring air from the babe.
Surprised to find a babe on his doorstep in the middle of the night, the young lord was unsure of a course of action other than to take the babe in. Though he will tell you now, that it was the best decision of his life.
Watching her grow was a joy for the man, and it was nice to know that he didn’t have to marry any time soon, with her to secure his line. He had claimed her after all, and would have no one tell her she was a half breed with no barring. And soon, no one did. She was accepted among her kin with little headache, though she was teased about being the red headed bastard.
Soon though, the lord realized that his daughter needed a mother, and so, when she was twelve, he married a reluctant woman with good breeding, but no title to her name. The woman was not a fan of Piper at first, fearing that she would threaten her future children’s wellbeing. It has only been in the last year, after making a name for herself, that Piper has gotten along with her step-mother and her siblings. Now that she is self sufficient at least.
Because of her step-mother, Piper, at the age of seventeen, begged her father to allow her to travel and learn more about the world. She was not denied, as he openly admitted that Piper was his favorite, and so he funded her on her travels, only requesting that she used the travel to gain a more worldly education. And this she did. She learned about different cultures, living with the peoples of different native lands. Though the language barrier was a bit difficult, if she were honest.
This she did for five years, roaming and studying and learning all the basics for different crafts and cultures. That is, until she found that a hobby had become a passion. After learning the basics of candle making, Piper took to making her own candles for light and ceremony, and soon, she began experimenting with them. Now her travels were centered around her new craft, looking for the perfect scents, trying to find the best mixes for wax, learning what wicks were going to be the best.
And through those two years, her father supported her through it all, giving her whatever she would need, when she needed it.
At twenty-four, she returned to her home and began the plans with her father to open up her own shop, a task that took far longer than she thought it would. For two years, they poured over numbers, sniffed more candles than was necessary, and learned all they could about every cultures candle rituals.
Finally, she was able to find a spot in the city that she loved, and with her father’s help, she opened Piper’s Glow. It is both her home, and her business now. This was what caused her step-mother to relax and attempt a relationship with the child she had resented for so long. Even her siblings had taken their mother’s lead and had all shown up at her grand opening with smiles and genuine love in their hearts. It scares Piper a little that something like status and money security could change someone so drastically.
