Appearance: Handsome in his younger years but now his face has weathered. Pain and bitterness have both etched their lines on his face. He is still handsome when he smiles his crooked, lopsided smile, but that's a rare thing now. Dark haired and dark of eye with a rough complexion due to too many nights out in all weathers as a soldier. His body is toned but scarred from numerous battle-wounds and his left leg ends in a stump just below the knee having been amputated as a result of a wound taken during the war.
Personality: Once charming and fun to be around, he is now struggling with depression and bitterness. If he can snap out of that he'll be once again the charming rogue he once was. He's loyal to his friends almost to a fault, hearing nothing said against them. He is a fighter, never stepping down from a battle he perceives as right or his duty.
History: Born and raised in a Skaldic clan, Einar was easy to spot. He was tough and cheeky and thus could get away with almost anything, including tormenting his younger sister and brother. He made fast friends with Astrid Schevlok, his Clan Chief's son, and together they got into the usual scrapes that young boys are wont to do.
As they grew into men they both joined the army and became embroiled in the war against Terre d'Ange. As is usual with battles and war, they got separated and Einar was injured with a crushed foot. He was left for dead on the battlefield but eventually was found and taken to be healed. His foot injury festered and his leg had to be amputated just below the knee.
He spent a long while in delirium but eventually his fighter instinct kicked in and he slowly began to heal. As soon as he was well enough to speak, he enquired as to his best friend and was told that Astrid had believed Einar to be killed.
By the time he had recovered enough to leave his sickbed, the war was over and peace had been declared so he went home to his family to recuperate and to cope with his disability, not least learning to walk again. Now he is travelling to Elua to locate his friend, having heard that he'd gone in Johanna Reiksol's protective detail.
Updates:
Einar travelled to Elua and found his friend, but after a while they argued over Einar's attempts to make Elua his home and its people his friends. Astrid moved on and left Einar in Elua. Einar first fell in love with Cosette, but eventually that petered out and she moved on. Now he's slowly falling for a Gentian Adept by the name of Felicja, a half Skaldi young woman. Currently he lives in rooms at the Cockerel and is getting to grips with his disability having obtained a wooden stump for his maimed leg. Eventually, Felicja found another to love, and Einar felt bitter and jealous, not understanding the d'Angeline 'Love as thou wilt'. Ultimately this ended their relationship.
Still bitter, Einar has tried to make his way, feeling now that he has no home, either back in Skaldia or in Elua.
