Character Avatar: Adrien Brody

Character Name: Eros Lefèvre
Age: 44
Rank/Title: Playwright
Race: Hellene
Country/Province: Terre d'Ange/ L'Agnace
Player: Merle

Appearance: Despite only being an adopted D'Angeline, Eros nevertheless seems to share some of that sharp-edged angular appeal. But his nose is a bit too large, a bit too crooked to claim the beauty of his adopted people. His green eyes are soulful and sorrowful, drowning deep and his voice soft and low, a mix between being sultry and soothing. His thin mouth is mobile and expressive, transforming his entire face when he smiles. Which is rarely.

Though not as large or muscular as some, he has a fine physique -slim and toned. Eros keeps his dark hair fairly short, wearing it artfully messy -Due more to neglect than any effort on his part. This paired with his predilection for dark-to-neutral clothes carelessly thrown on give him quite a rakish appearance.

Personality: Eros is a soft-spoken, quietly melancholy man, prone to bouts of depression. He broods and mopes, only finding solace in his music and writing. Though one doesn't usually see it, the Hellene playwright is very passionate and sensitive. When his friends can drag him away from his writing desk, he spends time at players' clubs and the more classy taverns -such as the Generous Patron.

With all of his pent up emotions and passion, Eros expresses himself best through his heartbreakingly tragic plays and complexly beautiful musical compositions. His dramas evoke more tears than laughter, though he has a subtle, intelligent wit. His operas make the heart soar and plummet at once with their emotional depth and intensity. But without the aid of his art, Eros would find it nigh impossible to express his feelings.

History: When Lilianne and Jean-Lucas Lefèvre returned from their trip to Hellas, they brought home an unexpected souvenir. A baby boy. They found the infant under circumstances they would never elaborate upon, a subject of much frustration for Eros. Caring for the child as if he were their own, they named him 'Eros' -the Hellene word for love.

Jean-Lucas was a painter, Lilianne an actress, and they taught their son to appreciate the arts in all its forms. They even sent Eros to Eglantine House to study, though he was never an adept. He took to it like a duck to water, showing a brilliant ear and a knack for bringing his stories to life. His comedies had his tutors in stitches and his tales of love made hearts ache.

When he was seventeen, Eros tragically lost his parents for a second time. Lilianne and Jean-Lucas both contracted a harsh fever and perished in each others arms. A poignant end that left a lasting impression on their son. His only solace was found in the arms of the cheerful Eglantine adept, Sofie. Such was their passion for each other, that they married soon after she'd made her marque. He wrote plays, ballets, operas with Sofie often starring in and helping to produce them. It was enough to return him to happiness... for a time.

When they were in their mid-twenties, Sofie fell from her horse, breaking her back. She lingered in suffering for months, Eros always by her side, before finally succumbing in her sleep. This time there were no warm arms to comfort Eros in his sorrow. He poured himself into his work, rarely being seen outside of his home. His works had started growing more sombre after the death of his parents, but Sofie's influence had helped bring joy and laughter back into them. With her death, his art grew dark and morose, though no less powerful.

In recent years, Eros is still devoted to his work. Lacking the gaiety of his early years, they have recovered some of their wit and lightness. He's had lovers off and on (more off than on), but he has become notorious for being cool and distant. In truth, he fears to let anyone too close, lest their loss break his heart once more. A pain he has no wish of reliving. That is not to say that he isn't lonely, and he fills his head with stories and music... to try to fill the void in his heart.
