Character Name: Blind Mary
Age: 67
Birthday: November 4, 1954
Height: 5’3”
Rank/Title: None
Race: Tsingani
Country/Province: City of Elua, Terre d’Ange

Townhome Request: None
Country Home Request: None

Appearance: Blind Mary is an old, dark woman, whose short stature is due to her hunching over with age. All in all, she is a worn woman, with a happy smile, but her eyes are what are truly striking. While they were once dark when she was younger, with age, they have clouded. The result of what is probably cataracts has caused them to look dead and ghostly, piercing in almost the worst way possible.

Personality: Being one of the oldest Tsingani in the city, Blind Mary is a sweet woman, whom loves and tends to all of the street rats in the city. When she can, she provides them with food, shelter, and advice on any situation. The city guards know her well, and when a street urchin has gotten themselves in trouble with the law, they often tell Blind Mary to take care of it, and take care of it she does. While the Tsingani and the children of the city love her, they also fear her wrath.

Additional Information

Marital Status: Widow

Known Languages: d’Angiline, Tsingani

Strengths and Weaknesses: Blind Mary is a strong and respected woman, something she worked hard to achieve because of her disability. There is nothing and no one that she fears, and she is well loved by all who encounter her. Her biggest weakness however, is her sight, having been gone since birth. She has a hard time navigating the city, and often has to depend on the children that she cares for, as well as the adults who have come to her for advice on many occasions.

Family Members/Important NPCs:
None that are currently living, though she has taken responsibility for most of the street rats.

History: Not much is known about Blind Mary’s past. She simply has always been in the city, a staunch figure among the Tsingani and the citizens who often seek her out for her tarot readings.

She does, indeed, have a past however, and her past is something striking. Having gone blind at a birth, Blind Mary found herself roaming from place to place, though with no real ability to do as such. She had to rely on many to lead her and care for her, going from group to group in a desperate need to connect with her roaming people.

In her travels, she met her husband whom took care of her, and guided her to the city to finally settle down, as best as a Tsingani can. For years they were happily married, often taking care of the children together, while he took odd jobs within the city, and she read tarot with a special deck of cards he had purchased for her as a gift. The deck is embossed where it’s art is drawn, and as a result, she is able to feel the cards and read them.

Though most don’t realize that she has no “sight” whatsoever. She is simply great at observation and asking the right questions. She simply eases her patrons minds with sound advice instead of giving them a true glimpse into their future. Which doesn’t seem to bother her patrons at all, and many patrons she has.

After her husband’s death, she continued to read tarot and to take care of those children she always had, though most of them were now adults. As adults, it seemed they take more care of her than vice versa, but if you tell them or Blind Mary that fact, you will get a very unpleasant verbal lashing. She is everyone’s grandma in that respect.
