Tidying the Timeline

Hey y'all!

So, we (I =P) have been meaning to clean up and make some changes to the extended royal family for ages, and now we're *finally* getting around to doing that. The plan is to shift around the lines, clean up and make room for new characters without boatloads of baggage from multiple players no longer on KL, years of outdated play with chars that have long been retired, etc.

I also want to introduce a KL only--as in not derived from the books, but an original creation--royal offshoot line. To put it simply, some royal cousins and whatnot who aren't Courcel, Somerville, or Trevallion.

We are also considering a small change that is also a Big change. I don't think it will have much impact on how we play, but rather that it makes sense for how our setting already is. Right now KL is ostensibly set ~67 years from the end of the original trilogy. Yet none of the characters from that trilogy are part of the setting. Even the ones who were very young and could conceivably be alive in our timeline. Or have children well within the age range of chars we write.

I think it makes more sense that KL time is a little further past Phedre's time than is set currently. I'm not sure how much time exactly, but enough to explain the distance removed between our site and the source material. Plus we often play it like it's a later era of history. I'm proposing that we maybe add a few extra generations into this new family tree project and move forward with the assumption there's been more time since Phedre and Co's day.

There were (are?) a couple of characters where this might contradict details of their history, but most have long been out of play. Those left can probably be tweaked without much trouble. If, of course, this is something that everyone is ok with. We don't want to make any changes if y'all aren't on board. We're in this together, after all! <3
