Appearance/Personality:
Gabin stands fairly tall, willowy and supple and strong, like the most adaptable kind of tree. He has a ruddy, healthy cast to his skin tone, with dark hair and eyes somewhere between blue and hazel. His Caerdicci blood from his mother's side allows him to grow a bit of a beard, and he usually keeps it trimmed in a goatee style.
Membership in a more martial order of priesthood suits his body frame just fine, since his arms are more comfortable swinging an axe than they are a censer. If not for his strong calling, Gabin might have found himself a soldier...though he still is, after a fashion. Everything he does is done with a burning passion that touches on all aspects of his life. Gabin is a loyal, strong-headed, somewhat-stubborn, and inquisitive young man who is quick to learn, experience, and laugh. He makes companions easily, though true friendship is a rarer stone that is only given to the more worthy.
History:
D'Angelines are lovers, naturally. With that aspect comes the other face of the coin - fighting. Both acts are intimate, blood-pounding, and might leave one or more partners lying dead. In that manner, the martial tradition of Camael fits right along with the other angels' graces.
This particular loving fighter's story begins on a wide, scenic plot of land belonging to an Eisandine man and his Caerdicci wife. They had three sons, all of which worked a tiring but clean life at the father's meadery. Gabin was the middle child, tending to the hives and clearing the land, hewing fence rails. Honest, good work. He loved his family and the life, though he sometimes wished they'd been higher-born. Maybe then he might have been sent off to train with the Cassilines of legend.
Time passed and Gabin's older brother left, bound for the City of Elua to join the armies. Gabin had watched his brother train, sparring with the hired help's sons as they all grew up together, talking about the faraway lands they would see and the glory they would win. Idle talk, a boy's fancy...until his brother actually did it. Gabin was left with a choice, then -- stay with the bees and the honeyed wine, or forge his own path?
The day was cloudy as Gabin swung his axe, the kind of day that he knew he shouldn't be out in far from the manor, because it was threatening to storm. Clouds rolled in, bringing with them the thunder, and the lightning...a bolt struck the ground as Gabin's axe sang, the shock of it all traveling through his body and leaving him out cold. He remembered waking up some time later, ears still ringing as his hazel eyes blinked, the rain washing over him like a baptism, axe flung far by either the strike or his own nerveless hands. Gabin's body still felt like it hummed with energy, as if the lightning had burned away all of his self-doubt. Cleansing fire, leaving only the seeds of healthy growth, much like the way he'd cleared land with his father for years.
Gabin had received his calling, though he still didn't know from whom. He left his old life, traveling first to the temple of Eisheth. The herblore was fascinating, but Eisheth's teachings couldn't fill what he needed. On north the young acolyte went, into the mountains of Camlach, where he finally found where he fit. His sword would sing the glory of Camael.
Now Gabin has taken up residence in the City of Elua, tending to both his blades and the flock.
