Character Avatar: Lily-Rose Depp
Player: Desdemona

Character Name: Anatase Merchand
Age: 25
Birthday: May 27th
Height:5' 3"
Rank/Title: Fully Marqued Eglantine Adept
Race: d’Angeline
Country/Province: City of Eula, from Kusheth

Appearance: Anatase is a petite girl, only a few inches over five feet. She has large and deep brown eyes. Her hair is a darker blonde and has a natural loose wave in it. She looks small and delicate but anyone with an eye for it can tell that she is not. She has the natural strength and dexterity of a well experienced dancer.

Personality: Anatase is a girl of duality. As an Eglantine she is a graceful dancer and tumbler, passionately performing in both styles. She is a good Eglantine for the most part, albeit a little bit daring. Her daring personality is the only hint of her second side. When she can do so without getting caught, Anatase dresses in a wig she stole when she was a child and runs with the lowest of the Night’s Doorstep element. She does it for the rush and the adrenaline, having a small group of somewhat trusted friends that she spends time with. They believe she is a bored noble and she never shows her marque. She does not tell a single soul about her night adventures, to include her twin sister. The gracious Eglantine dancer turned into a dirty and cunning hooligan.

Twin Sister: Océane no Mandrake

History: Anatase is the twin sister of Océane nó Mandrake. When the two girls were born Océane was first and Anatase second. Their mother looked at her first daughter’s deep green and grey eyes and thought of the ocean. She was thus named before the second finally came. When she did their mother had a surprise, her second daughter did not appear to look at all like her husband but instead looked like a gem merchant she had a one day tryst with not long after burning her candle. She had thought the candle would only burn for her husband but it seemed that Eisheth had other plans. Their mother did not mention this to her husband, not sure how he would take a child that may not be his but asked to name her Anatase. Anatase had deep brown eyes that made her mother think of a gem the merchant had showed her, a rare dark brown anatase. He had even gifted it to her, the gem hidden in a box amongst her things. She was not in love with the man but wanted to give him credit in some way for gifting her with a second daughter.

Anastase was a small baby and stayed small as the two girls grew. Some thought that maybe her short stature was due to being a weak twin, but in truth the girl had never been a sickly child. Her true father was shorter than Océane’s. When asked about the difference in any of the girls physical features, hair, eyes, or height her mother would just claim she once had an aunt that looked a little like Anatase and her looks must have came from her. Their mother did not have many biological relatives still alive so no one ever questioned her.

When the girls were a mere six years old their father died and their mother found that she could not care for them alone. She decided to take her twins and her third child to the Night Court and find them homes. She could live nearby and still see her children as they grew but they would have a better life. At first both of the girls were accepted by Mandrake, both had passion and energy that the Dowayne thought would be good for the house. It only took a couple of years for it to become apparent that Anatase was not a fit for Mandrake. She had no problems being a dominate adapt, even leading some of her fellow younglings on mischievous pranks, but she had no real desire to cause pain. Anatase had been caught a few times climbing trees and other things that required her to have some natural body strength, so she was sent to Eglantine to be a tumbler.

Anatase was angry with Mandrake for separating her from her sister and gave Eglantine a lot of trouble when she first arrived. She was bad enough that the Dowayne was tempted to send her to be tested at Valerian because the whippings seemed to have no effect. Instead she put her in a dance class and there Anatase found her solace. They still wanted her to continue with tumbling, due to her natural agility, so Anatase learned both trades. Anatase found that she could use the music and dance to tune out her anger at the Night Court and life for taking away her sister. When she was not focused on these things she would feel resentment and anger for losing her family. Her father was dead and she would no longer be able to be with him or even get to truly know him. Her sister was busy in another house.

When Anatase was 14 she ran away, her emotions getting the better of her, and ended up befriending some homeless adolescents that roamed the Night Court. At first it was a friendship of convenience for them, they thought she had money and wanted in on it, though she had none with her at the time. She let them believe the rouse that she was from a noble family and ended up spending three days running the streets with them, jealous of their carefree life. She grew hungry, however, and made her way back to Eglantine and a beating followed by a latched door lock. After being confined to her room for a few days she kept her trips outside of the House short. She found a old wig one day at a market. She cleaned it up (though not too much), and has sense worn it when she goes out so that she is less likely to be recognized.

Now, as an adept who has completed her marque she no longer sneaks out, she just leaves when she has the time. She does not, however, tell anyone where she really goes. Her friends still think she is a wayward nobleman’s daughter. When she is at her house or visiting her sisters she is the passionate Eglantine that everyone desires, but at times she feels more at home with her friends, the freedom pulling her. Her love of dance and developed love of tumbling keeps her from trying to completely shed that life. Instead she happily lives out the best of both worlds, molding the life that she wants for herself.
