Character Avatar: Leo Jimenez
Player: Gladiolus
Character Name: Léopold LaFont
Age: 30
Birthday: December 14
Height: 6'0" (1.8m)
Rank/Title: Gentian Adept
Race: d'Angeline
Country/Province: Siovale, L'Agnace
Appearance: Léopold LaFont is a tall, muscular man who wears his dark, wavy hair long. After making his marque, he has acquired more dark tattoos and will, on occasion, add kohl to his eyes to make his appearance more striking. His voice is deep and gravelly. He has an unusual trait among pureblood d'Angelines: he is able to grow a beard, and will sometimes grow stubble though he has never preferred a full face of hair.
Personality: Léopold always has a chaotic air about him, as though he may turn into a wild animal at any moment. He has been trained in many of Gentian's arts, but the majority of his patrons come to him for his clarity of understanding of their dreams. He, however, remains at Gentian in order to have access to their copious amounts of lore. From his earliest memories, he has doubted the strength of Elua and the Companions, finding them aloof and hard of hearing. He is drawn to the power and closeness of old spirits and deities, like those that the Skaldi and Albans once worshipped.
Marital Status: unmarried
Known Languages: d'Angeline
Strengths and Weaknesses: Leopold has an incredible memory and is good at reading people, making him a successful adept. He is, however, secretive and bristles at the rules.

History:
Léopold was born into a family that was originally from Siovale, but migrated to the City of Elua during a drought year. The LaFont family, however, kept the natural Siovalese curiosity and desire for knowledge - teaching their children to read and do math early and providing them every opportunity to learn. But the City of Elua was not an easy life, even if food and work was somewhat more plentiful than serving on a Siovalese estate. After a few years and ever more mouths to feed, the LaFont family found themselves again on the brink of destitution and starvation.
It was with heavy hearts that Julien and Claire LaFont brought their two oldest children to Gentian House, which they heard was accepting fosterlings. Gentian's representatives refused their daughter Léonine, who they said had too crooked of teeth. But the Gentian representatives took a liking to the eleven-year-old Léopold LaFont with his hair like dark waves and eyes like black pools. He had the looks for it and was broody enough to seem mystical; they would take him. The LaFont parents were grateful that Gentian would care for one of their children, and give them the opportunity to better care for their girls.
Léopold felt abandoned. In a narrow bed at Gentian, surrounded by other fosterlings, he prayed and prayed and prayed to Elua and all the companions that he could be returned home. But none of the Angels or Elua answered him.
At the end of the week, he decided that Elua and the Companions were not going to help him. He would need to seek other powers - and he wouldn’t find it as Gentian’s scullion. Though his doubts about Namaah were strong, he promised to serve her - for access to the aristocracy’s and the Night Court’s deep coffers, and Gentian’s library of arcana. He threw himself into learning what Gentian would teach, forgetting his family (who would still keep in touch of him), and learning about what other powers existed in the world to help him. He made his debut and was a reasonably popular adept. He continues to serve after having made his marque.
