Appearance/Personality:

Josephine is a sultry creature, long legged, curvacious, and possessing a sensuous allure. Her features are lush, soft where they should be, but the odd sharp angle giving her that cutting beauty that D'Angelines are known for. Thick waves of darkest brunette frame Josephine's face and fall down her back that can either be tamed to smoothness or coaxed to curls depending on her mood and how much effort she wishes to put into it. Her skin, even winter pale, is touched with a golden honey hue. As if she radiates her own summer warmth.

A vivacious personality peers through the lady's rich chocolate eyes. Mischievous, flirtatious, cunning. Her lips are made for wicked nothings, breathy moans and throaty laughter. She isn't particularly dominant or submissive, yet she is drawn to unusual pleasures and will step into either role when the situation dictates, or when it suits her. Adaptable and ambitious, Josephine may seem indolent and careless, but she can be intensely driven to succeed when she sets her mind to something.

Usually very outgoing, charming and friendly, Josephine rarely lets anything get under her skin. She's passionate, exuberant, and doesn't like to be brought down. On the rare occasion that something does upset her, she can be either sullenly pouty or waspish. Mostly, however, those bouts are short-lived.

History:

Born into a humble innkeeper's family, Josephine Marion was the youngest of several siblings. Her father was fondly indulgent of his little girl, but for the most part she was ignored. Either in favor of her older brothers, or simply because her parents were busy earning the family's modest livelihood. When she was old enough she joined the others in working around the inn. Her personable attitude served her well, but she found she had quite the business acumen as well. Unfortunately, there was little chance that she would inherit or advance beyond the menial work she did, and thus she languished.

That is until fortune brought a man through the door that caught the woman's eye. Much more importantly, he sparked her interest, enlivened her mind. Gervais Bisette was cool and reserved, but for Josephine there was a tendril of warmth that grew, much to her delight. Whenever he visited the inn, the pair would find themselves discussing their dreams, their aspirations for the future. Their plans and possible machinations to bring them to pass. Finding that the ones they came up with together were always better, and infinitely more appealing for the inclusion of the other.

It was clear very quickly that the two were falling in love, and it caused some contention within the Marion family. Josephine's father was a simple man, but he had his pride, and he did not want his daughter marrying a whore's unwanted get. He saw no future in it for her, despite the man's moderate successes in various ventures. The woman was furious, hurt, but far from defeated, and eventually -when it was clear that her father would not relent- she decided to go ahead and elope with Gervais without her family's blessing.

For some years it seemed that her father would be proved right, as the couple's ambitions went nowhere, but the pair never stopped saving coin, planning, preparing. Finally, all of their dogged diligence paid off with the opening of Pride's Fall. A very exclusive salon, it was surprisingly lucrative, and has only become more successful as years have gone by. Their wide range of clientele has even included some royalty.

Even more than a decade after her nuptials Josephine remains estranged from her family for the most part, only rarely communicating with her mother or one of her siblings, but she does not let it weigh on her mind. It is not that she remains bitter at them, so much as the fact that she has moved on. The lady is thrilled with her marriage, with the prosperity of the salon, and is pleased with life in general. Where they would stifle her and limit her prospects, she has found a path and a partner that has let her spread her wings and realise her dreams. A fact for which she has no regrets.
