Appearance: Carine has friendly brown eyes, kissable lips, and long straight brown hair that usually does as she wants. She is a little bit on the taller side, but not unusually tall for a d'Angeline at 5'8". She manages to stay toned and thin, much to the surprise of some who have seen her eat and drink.
Personality: Carine is a passionate girl who loves anything that can hold her attention and make her feel excited about life. She hates boredom and too much routine. Though her personality would make one think that she would try to make her marque quickly so she can leave Valerian and have her freedom, the opposite has proven to be true. When she can leave Carine can be found eating and drinking away almost every coin she has earned from her patron gifts.

History: Carine was born to Theresa and Randolph Bouquet in a family of farmers outside of the city. They worked for a fair Sovereign, but one who required those who lived under them to work hard. Families who met his requirements were treated well and given occasional gifts and fetes. Carine's parents were very loyal and demanded the same of their kids. They were also very religious, making yearly trips to the large temple in the city.
Carine was the fourth child born to her parents . She was a button faced little baby with curious eyes and a fine blonde halo of hair. She looked around, not crying, just interested in her new world. She looked like a perfect little innocent angel, so they gave her a name meaning, "Pure."
It didn't take long for her parents to realize the name was miss placed. Her pale blonde baby hair was quickly replaced with a dark brown. As her hair darkened so did her love for mischief seem to grow. What her parents saw a trouble was really a curious girl who didn't fear danger, exploring her world. While she drove them to the brink of their patience often, she also had a natural charm that kept her a favorite of many of the locals. Her parents loved her, but knew not what they would do with their little girl who would not be tamed into their simple life.
When she was five the family took their annual trip to the temple of Eula. While there they asked the Priest for input on their daughter. They had in mind that she could become an acolyte. The Priest had already taken notice of the girl. She had ran around and good heartily teased some of the acolytes. Seeing that she easily charmed them and brought them to laughter he suggested Orchis house instead. Her parents trusted his judgement and on the way out of the city they visited the Night Court.
They visited Orchis first, as the Priest had suggested. The day had been long and Carine was fidgety and almost out of control. Her parents did their best to bring their daughter under control. She didn't respond to much, even a few meaningful spanks on the bottom. The Dowayne watched all of this with the critical eye of a well experienced judge of character. She soon sent them off to Valerian. With some nervousness her parents walked their little girl in the house promising pain and humiliation. They could not imagine their mischievous little child flourishing in such a place. However, they had their faith and they would do what those close to the gods suggested.
They greeted the Dowayne and within a few minutes Carine was becoming restless again. The Dowayne held up a hand when her parents started to discipline her. She picked up one of the famed candies and dropped it in her mouth. The little Carine's eyes widened and she started to experiment with the hard candy, taking it in and out of her mouth, smelling it, and testing is hardness. The Dowayne was amused by the child. At five Carine was able to voice that the spices hurt and were tasty at the same time. Her grasp on deeper pleasures were still limited, but the Dowayne felt that was a pretty good answer considering her age. Since training didn't start at such a young age her parents said they would hold on to their daughter for now, but return when she was ten years of age to see if she was still a fit.
As Carine grew her self control did as well, though she still managed to find herself in trouble on a fairly regular basis. When she reached her 10th natal her parents made a special trip into the city, hoping it would prove to be one that would be a reason to celebrate. Carine made her second visit to Valerian and this time was mature enough to kneel when asked and hold herself still. She was given her second piece of candy and was able to explain that one could find pleasure, even in pain. The Dowayne had remembered the five year old version of Carine and could still see the little spark of mischief in her eyes. She felt that Carine would be a good addition to the house and she gave Theresa and Randolph a small amount of money for her. The couple were giving their daughter up as some families give up sons to the Cassiline Brother, but the Dowayne insisted on giving them the money, mostly so they couldn't change their minds on leaving their daughter. Carine had a tearful goodbye with her parents and began her life at Valerian.
Carine didn't seek pain in the way that many adepts did, she simply sought new experiences and stimulation. If those came in the form of pain she was perfectly fine with that. She fell in love with all that Valerian had to offer and all of the various ways the house's Patrons found to torture and pleasure their adepts. When she turned 16 she had her debut and her world was truly open to all that Service in Naamah had to offer. She practiced building her pain tolerance as all good Valerians do and over time grew to love the challenge of going further and further without her signale. While some adepts shied away from the more sadistic patrons Carine saw them as a challenge, a way to test her skills. The emotion of fear never truly seemed to develop in her and a few of her assignations almost ended badly. Luck stayed with her through the years and her d'Angeline ability to heal well and her Patron's ability to eventually find their self control prevented her from ever being truly scared or fatally hurt.
Though Carine has done well as an adept and has a few regular patrons her marque is barely half complete. She loves her life at Valerian and see's no reason to rush her marque to completion. She adds a little with every generous gift, but also uses her money to fulfill other pleasures and desires. She loves trying new foods, drinks, and any other sensation she can discover. She also loves to buy new things and she has to be told on a regular basis to clean out her room and organize the piles of useless things she has bought.
Carine is a lively adept and does her job well. This is good for her since her loose ways with her money will have her at Valerian for many years still to come.
