Appearance: Jasper has dark brown hair that is almost black and dark hazel eyes that are almost brown. He is a typical d'Angeline male in appearance. As his eyes and hair live on the edge of color his physic lives on the edge of strength and fragility. With the right clothes he can look willowy and frail, though his body has definition and strength without them.
Personality: Jasper is warm and friendly when he's with his friends and family. Unlike some, he doesn't like to speak about his role as an adept. He is not ashamed of being one, but he prefers to keep what happens in the chambers locked up tightly in them. On all other topics he is an open book.
History: Jasper is the first born of a minor Barron outside of L'Agnance. He was expected at a young age to follow in his father's footsteps. As he reached his 10th natal it became quite apparent that Jasper had no wish to rule over lands, no matter how minor. Jasper enjoyed books, flowers, and other things he considered beautiful and cared not for power or even basic responsibility. His parents tried to create a future noble out of him through various means, but nothing worked. Jasper was who he was. He even seemed to relish his parent's displeasure on some level. He would look at his shoes and seem chastised, but hints of a smile would play on the corners of his mouth.
Jasper was not an only child and he had a younger sister that was more than willing to fill in any lack. Still, his parents wanted something for their child. He couldn't live out the rest of his life picking flowers in the garden and reading books. At the young age of 10 Jasper had no real ambitions so it was left up to them to decide. They considered the priesthood and toured some of the temples with the young Jasper. They were places of beauty and reading, so it seemed a good fit. Jasper spent a trial week as a acolyte in training at the Shemhazai temple but found the life to be tedious. He enjoyed the studying, but it turned out that he needed more in life. Some of his parents' attempts at showing him that there was more than just books seemed to have worn off on him. Still, being a noble was more than he really wanted.
The family spoke with the Shemhazai priest and he suggested a different form of service to the gods, the Night Court. He had no real artistic talents, did not really enjoy pain, and was too dark for the likes of Cereus. He was neither proud or one for perfection. He didn't seem to be especially passionate or joyful, so in the end they took him to Alyssum. The Dowayne asked him if he knew what the House did and he said yes, but blushed and looked at his feet. She asked if he wanted to be an Adept and he blushed a yes.
Though Jasper had to adjust to a life in which he was required to work a bit harder, he managed to do well enough. As he aged and his debut grew closer his heart pounded with nervous anticipation thinking about it. He was surrounded by plenty of other nervous adepts and he knew it was a normal thing. The house spoke of modesty and how Naamah trembled to give up her innocence to the King. Jasper didn't think he would tremble for it, but would truly embrace it. Not just embrace the sensuality of it, but the shame. He knew the adepts were to avert their eyes and be shy, but he felt that he wasn't quite as shy as many of them. He also felt that he wanted to blush more than most of them, to truly avert his eyes as someone took him.
Jasper had his debut and he finally found what he truly wanted. That moment of giving himself to another was pure and sweet. He had finally found what he was meant to do. He gave himself to Alyssum as an adept and let his family knew that he would never want to take his place as an heir to his father's lands. The family accepted his choice and have celebrated his accomplishments as an adept with him. Their son was happy and they had other children that could take over for them when their time on earth was done.
Jasper has only been an adept for a year, but he has taken to his craft well, accepting any patron that will let him go to that place of shame and pleasure.
