Character Name: Thayet no Eglantine
Age: 23
Birthday: January 13, 1998
Height: 5' 2"
Rank/Title: Adept
Race: D'Angiline (mother is from Namarre, her father from Siovale)
Country/Province: Resident of the Night Court since her birth

Townhome Request: none
Country Home Request: none

Appearance: Thayet's appearance is one that is almost always, simply baffling. While she has a thin frame, and the bone structure of her face is very pleasing to the eye, there are some features that leave something to be desired. Her eyes seem so large, they could make baby dolls envy her. The nose placed under them seeming much smaller because of their vast size. It is not uncommon to see her dressed in muslin or linen when she is not with a patron, and it is almost always stained with bits of clay, muted glazed, and once in a small while, her blood, (most of her tools being quite sharp for her craft). For assignations, however, she is simply carefree, with a timeless quality that has everyone drawn to her, simply out of curiosity.

Personality: Her temperament is what causes those curious eyes to stay and see the soul beneath. With a hypnotic smile, she woos both patrons and friends alike with her infectious laughter and innocent whit. In front of crowds, and within the confines of assignations, Thayet is outgoing in ways that she could never hope to be behind her own closed doors. In her room, or among the houses residents, she is awkward, shy, and aloof, spending a great deal of time behind closed doors, sculpting presents for her patrons and house mates alike. Without the strength of Namaah's work, it is as though she hides within herself, afraid of judgement.

Additional Information

Marital Status: Single

Known Languages: D’Angiline

Strengths and Weaknesses: While performing in an assignation, Thayet has complete control over her anxiety and social issues. She is capable of setting them aside to make the patron feel utterly wanted and adored. However, her social anxieties are also her greatest weakness. While not under contract, Thayet finds herself unable to say strange things, or making people uncomfortable with her laughter during awkward moments. She is also highly nervous around anyone knew, and as a result, fumbles over everything she has ever learned in the span of her life time in the Night Court.

Family Members/Important NPCs: Thayet has only her mother and her father, both of whom are back in the Night Court after a failed attempt at opening their own salon. Her mother apart of Bryony, her father apart of Alyssum. (I am not opposed to anyone picking them up to play them, should someone so wish.)

History: In the bitter colds of winter, Thayet was born to her Alyssum father, and Bryony mother, whom both wore smiles as love shone in their eyes. Fully marqued, the two worked very hard to establish themselves outside of the Night Court, their dream to open a salon together to help support their bouncing baby girl. Unfortunately, the two found this far easier said than done, and spent the first five years of their daughters life working and saving in order to even purchase their own home. They had never thought of their daughter becoming an adapt, had never dreamed that she would be called by Namaah as they had, but it became perfectly clear at the age of nine, when Thayet showed a gift for art.
This was what allowed them to leave the Night Court and pursue their dreams of opening their own salon outside of the city, making the space a home for them as well, and making it a place Thayet would be able to live and work when she made her marque. It seemed as if everything were falling perfectly into place, and on her eleventh birthday, when she was assigned to her house, they bid her farewell to make a new life for themselves and for her.

Thayet's time in the night court as a child was full of wonder for her, even though she was shy from an early age. She loved greatly the colors and beauty of Midwinter, and other parties that were held. She loved the different faces that passed her by, or the different body types she had to squeeze past in order to serve another. The human body, in all of its forms, was something she longed to recreate. To make immortal. This longing only grew as she began to notice the beauty of plant life, animals, and the structures that gave them shelter and were erected around her.

When she found herself welcomed into the folds of Eglantine house, she was awed at how much the house felt like home. She had been sure nothing would feel right in the Night Court with her parents gone. Here, however, she was not only trained in the arts of Naamah's gifts, but also trained in the areas of art she seemed to excel at. It was her training in the arts of love the seemed to propetuate her shyness into something utterly awkward and unsure. These lessons also taught her how to hide her awkward and unsure feelings while, at the very least, under contract with a patron, and so she was able to thrive within her house, taking her first assignation with grace and poise she didn’t know she had. With wonder and awe she also learned to draw, to paint, to sculpt, to woodwork, and she used in all in an attempt to see what it was exactly she was meant to do with the unique way she saw the world. It had taken many months, but after a summer rain, the Dowayne finally determined what it was the young adept was meant to do with her art, having found her playing and sculpting an array of faces with the mud caused by the resent storm.

On her sixteenth birthday, and on the eve of her debut, she received word from her parents that the dream they had worked so hard for, had failed. For one reason or another, they were unable to sustain themselves the way they hoped and would be returning to the Night Court to serve Namaah once more. It was something she had never fathomed, and this too, added to the socially awkward nature she had gained and fostered as a youngling. She would have to relearn how to interact with her parents, while also maintaining her assignations and house expectations, and it was a task that was daunting and seemed impossible.

Now, with three years of serving alongside her parents in different houses, Thayet is able to maintain the outer appearance of someone put together. So long as she is not expected to open her mouth in social matters not dictated by contract, she simply looks like the adept filled with utter grace and poise.
